Generac Power Systems - Join the leader in the power industry! Our Corporate Office in Waukesha, WI is seeking a Strategic Global Sourcing Intern for our SGS team!
As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in various supply chain functions while networking within a dynamic, people focused environment. The position will interact with various suppliers, internal customers, and analysts daily while improving processes and execution across a growing, global organization.
You are responsible for several diverse functions within the organization. While upholding a primary focus on sourcing, supplier management, and supplier development, the group is responsible for maintaining an agile and aggressive supply base while procuring high quality goods at a fair and competitive price.
Basic Qualifications:
• Enrolled in Business, Operations and Supply Chain or related degree program
Additional Qualifications:
• Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
• Advanced PC knowledge in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Excellent organizational skills and highly analytical
• Value teamwork
• Open to innovation
• High ethical standards
• MAPICS and/or SAP experience a plus
• Interest in Leadership/Exhibits Leadership potential
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities are driven by current organizational and business needs. Assignments could include one or more projects within the following areas:
• Participation in weekly meetings with Engineering on New Product Development initiatives
• Support the part qualification initiating PPAP’s utilizing Ariba
• Research and compare supplier quotes
• Procure and track parts for Development Builds
• Interface with suppliers on part status
• Research supply chain structure in support of our customer’s strategic initiatives
• Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to use hands to manipulate objects, tools or controls; and talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to walk; stoop; crouch; bend and reach above shoulders. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance, waist high, up to 10 feet away. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working in the typical conditions of a manufacturing environment including seasonal variation in temperatures and occasional exposure to manufacturing fumes or by-products. The employee must comply with the assigned location PPE requirements including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate gloves, clothing and shields for required tasks and closed toed or safety shoes as required by facility safety policies.
