Business Intelligence Analyst - Intermediate

Do you like to answer questions and tell stories using data? Creative and imaginative? Join our Enterprise Performance Metrics team for Citizens Property Insurance to enhance our data analysis, visualization/dashboards, and data storytelling. As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will work with business partners across the organization to gather requirements, build dashboards using Microsoft Power BI and other tools as needed, and perform analysis to derive actionable intelligence. Additionally, this position will serve in a role to train users in both self-service environments and actionable intelligence dashboard design.

Job Summary

Bridges the gap between data collection and effective decision making; with some direction, gains understanding of insurance/operational questions being asked and use meaningful analyses to provide answers. Refines existing reports as data sources and methods evolve. Leads audits of data elements and sources to ensure data quality.

Job Duties

Models' ethical behavior and executes job responsibilities in accordance with Citizen's core values, ethics, and information protection policies

Supports development of meaningful business intelligence analyses and reports using various sources of data in an efficient manner. Summarizes information appropriately for the intended audience. Refines and revises report production to ensure efficiency.

Analyzes data for trends, patterns or changes and communicates significance of findings to management to inform decision making and strategies.

Ensures data quality. Periodically audits data from policy system and other sources to identify anomalies. Informs data owners of identified errors for correction. Follows up to ensure errors are corrected at the source. Shares findings with the team.

Generates detailed documentation of work to enable reviews and replication of reports.

Supports responses to ad hoc information requests from a variety of customers. Research topics as necessary, compiles appropriate information and summarizes conclusions in a timely fashion.

Confers with peers on processes and audits fellow work products to minimize errors and maximize efficiency. Cross trains colleagues on processes and report generation.

Knowledge: (Required)

Knowledge of insurance concepts, Advanced knowledge of data quality concepts, Advanced knowledge of Excel, Advanced knowledge of business intelligence tools, Advanced SQL, Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills

Relevant Experience: (Required)

Three years analytical, business intelligence and/or data management experience with a competence using data visualization and analysis tools such as Power BI and SQL.

Education: (Required)

High School Diploma | GED, Bachelor's Degree OR 4 years relevant experience, OR a combination of college education and relevant experience equivalent to 4 years.

What percentage of time is accountable for short-term operational goals? 50%

What percentage of time is accountable for transactional, day to day operational support? 50%
