Job Description

The Assistant Warehouse Manager is responsible for directing the operations of the warehouse. This position also oversees the warehouse team and truck drivers.

What your day may look like

  • Invoices tickets, credit correspondence and other computer related duties.
  • Supervises truck routing including contacting customers, suppliers and other related concerns.
  • Manages inventory control including monitoring receivers, customer orders and general duties associated with inventory control.
  • Assists the warehouse manager in monitoring and implementing supplier programs.
  • Monitors equipment maintenance and care including month-end reports on mileage, driver reports and other required reports.
  • Helps the warehouse manager supervise the team and completes semi-annual and annual job reviews.
  • Assists warehouse manager with month-end closing activities including verification of invoices, inventory count and proper month-end reports.
  • Provides back-up to truck drivers and also to the administrative assistant of the location when needed.
  • Other work-related duties as assigned by leader.
  • Reliable and regular attendance is expected.

Education and experience needed for this position

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Commercial chemical applicator's license is required.
  • Forklift experience is required.
  • One year of general laborer experience is required.

Other skills that will help you succeed

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.

Your work environment and the physical aspects of the job

The work environment for this position is that of a typical warehouse and distribution environment where the noise level is usually moderate to loud and occasionally very loud. In this position, the employee regularly works near moving equipment/mechanical parts and could be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, chemical and biological hazards and a risk of electrical shock. This position requires you to use your hands for many different tasks and to talk, hear, walk, stand and sit. You will be regularly required to lift or move up to 100 pounds.
