Our Clean Energy Team seeks a Mechanical Engineer II to support design and manufacturing of industry-leading power converter products and solar energy storage and management solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience with Solidworks, Product Lifecycle Management, sheet metal and plastics design for manufacturing, supplier quality evaluation, and contract manufacturing.
This role is based in Reno and requires a minimum of three days onsite per week.
Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering capacity for fast-growing product line of solar energy storage and management solutions
- Provide flexible, responsive engineering support for a fast-changing global supply chain
- Create and modify product designs and documentation
- Evaluate supplier engineering change requests
- Create engineering change notifications
- Build, test, and evaluate prototypes and first articles
- Respond to engineering and manufacturing questions from suppliers
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. in Mechanical OR Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 2 years of related work experience
- Experience creating and modifying complex 3D models and complete 2D drawing sets in Solidworks or Creo Parametric
- Travel up to 10 % as needed for partner support
Physical demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
