The New Product Introduction (NPI) Manager will lead Generac's clean energy residential product launch efforts, specifically focused on the coordination and execution of field trials & limited product releases. The NPI Manager will work cross functionally to deploy complex product solutions, both firmware and hardware. The successful candidate will be able to work with a multi-disciplinary team including engineering, product management, applications, fleet analytics, support, marketing, sales, and importantly our dealer partners and system owners. The NPI Manager will develop and improve the NPI processes to streamline product launch efforts. This position will report directly to the Sr. Director of Fleet.

Essential Duties:
  • Drive cross-functional efforts of new product introductions for Generac Clean Energy.
  • Develop and improve product release processes to improve market readiness & capture essential dealer & consumer feedback of new products.
  • Coordinate with dealers and consumer to ensure the onsite installation of 10's and 100's of complex residential solar + storage systems nationally as part of our Alpha & Beta programs.
  • Work with application engineering, service, marketing, and sales to ensure delivery of a comprehensive suite of dealer & consumer facing product support tools - including system design, dealer training, & self-help tools.
  • Facilitate weekly meetings to report the progress of field trails.
  • Support product transitions including NPI and end of life initiatives.
  • Ensure backend systems are functioning properly including our ERP, CRM, and dealer facing fleet monitoring tools.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in a technical field or demonstrated experience in supporting new product introductions.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience as a project manager, NPI manager, or in technical applications.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Hands-on experience with residential electrical systems and/or solar + storage systems.
  • Knowledge of code and compliance requirements related to residential electrical and solar + storage systems.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build rapport and establish and maintain relationships with customers, peers, and managers.
  • General proficiency in Microsoft Office products and the ability to quickly adapt to other computer systems while efficiently assisting callers.
  • Familiarity with ERP & CRM systems including SAP and Salesforce.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting; close vision and ability to adjust focus.
