POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The Technical Designer reports to the Woodshop Manager.
  • Located in Omaha, NE.
  • Full-Time
  • In Office

The Technical Designer is responsible for reading architectural plans and renderings to create detailed shop drawings to be used by craftsman to manufacture and install the final product.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, draft, and process custom cabinetry drawings for use by production craftsman.
  • Read architectural blueprints and translate into full millwork shop drawings for production using Microvellum.
  • Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information, consulting with management
  • Generate CNC programs for machine.
  • Provide technical assembly instructions of products.
  • Maintain an understanding of all the materials and hardware used.
  • Grow capabilities to perform position with greater efficiency annually.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner which fosters positive relations with customers, vendors, and internal company personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned

COMPETENCIES:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, Solidworks, or Microvellum
  • Ability to work on a deadline driven schedule
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced and demanding environment
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook and MS Operating system with intermediate or better proficiency
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • General understanding of production methods and fabrication techniques for custom architectural millwork, cabinetry, furniture

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma required. Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline preferred, or equivalent Military or practical experience.
  • 1 year or more of entry level or internship experience in an Interior Design, Architectural, Engineering, or Construction related field.
  • Experience with Microvellum software preferred.
  • Construction industry experience a plus.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.

The range provided represents the national average pay range for this position and is considered to be a general guideline. Pay for this position will reflect the candidate's unique qualifications and may be higher or lower than the range provided based on employee geographic location. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other local, state, and federal law.

In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in TriMark's' benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc. Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
