We are looking for an experienced
Geologist or Engineer to join our Team as an Environmental Project Manager! This position is for an experienced professional to assist in the planning, scheduling and execution of environmental projects varying in size and complexity. As a Project Manager, you will work in the office and in the field on a diverse range of projects including limited site investigations, site characterization and risk assessments, remedial design, installation and operation and maintenance. The qualified candidate will oversee monitoring and testing of soils, generate subsurface maps and cross-sections, evaluate and interpret subsurface field and sampling data, develop conclusions and/or remedial alternatives, and prepare reports concerning the environmental and geologic site conditions.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Plan, schedule, and implement technical scopes of work related to environmental site assessments, risk based corrective actions, and remediation designs/implementation with minimal oversight.
  • Prepare scopes of work for routine site investigations to assess soil, groundwater, soil vapor, and/or indoor air sampling from a hydrogeological, geological, and/or environmental standpoint. May assist more senior level project managers on large, more complex projects.
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues to define project scope, schedule and budget and develop proposals.
  • Manage all aspects of projects to ensure they are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Design, communicate, and implement a project plan for completing the project. Set priorities, assign tasks, and coordinates project staff to meet project targets and milestones.
  • Work with senior project managers to identify, develop, and gather the resources to complete the project. This may include preparing calculations, designs, reports; developing project schedules, budgets and forecasts; and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors.
  • Work as part of a local team in Omaha, as well as within regional and national teams for various national account clients.
  • Conduct meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project.
  • Troubleshoot and recommend or resolve operational problems and minimize delays.
  • Coordinate with accounting for financial management of business intelligence, invoicing and collections.
  • Develop understanding and be aware of project-related risk.
  • Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines by creating and modeling a safe work environment and safety practices. Promote pre-task planning for all projects.
  • Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Monitor quality standards and practices. Coordinate effort with senior staff to make sure they have the opportunity to engage throughout the project, particularly at critical junctures.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in an engineering, geology, or environmental related discipline. Master's degree preferred.
  • Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) - Environmental, Civil, or Chemical, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of environmental regulations.
  • Demonstrated technical writing ability. Must provide authored technical document upon request.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental consulting, specifically in subsurface site investigation, characterization, and remediation.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare written plans and reports related to site investigations, assessments and remediation.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
  • Hazwoper 40-hour training
  • Ability to travel and do work on project sites on a periodic basis.
