Work Type: Full-Time

Nature of Work: The Mayor's Hotline Supervisor's role is to lead, train and supervise a team of Hotline Associates during daily operations. The Hotline Supervisor serves as the point of contact for all other City departments and external agencies. The Hotline Supervisor is responsible for providing information to Hotline Associates, maintaining a current list of resources and contacts, and understanding City of Omaha department procedures.

Education and Experience: The knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acquired through, but are not limited to, the following combination of education and/or experience. High school diploma or its equivalent.

Pay Range: $55,000 to $60,000 Annually *Pay commensurate with experience

Essential Functions: (Any one position may not perform all the duties listed, nor do the listed examples include all the duties that may be performed in positions allocated to this class.) Manages complaint-based phone calls, emails, and submission to OmahaHotline.com from Omaha and area residents. Develops and maintains relationships with other City department staff. Collaborates with other department staff and Department Directors to resolve resident concerns and obtain and communicate accurate information. Submits service requests to the appropriate individuals. Designs and provides hotline training to new and current employees. Organizes and monitors staff schedules. Provides additional support to the Office Administrator. Updates City of Omaha website for Mayor's Hotline and various boards and commissions. Prepares weekly, monthly, and yearly Mayor's Hotline reports. Attends weekly Homeless Task Force meetings. Attends PRT with other City department staff to discuss major concerns throughout the City.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of, and ability to operate, computers and other technology using standard or customized computer or systems software applications appropriate to the assigned tasks. Knowledge of municipal government and the general functions of City departments. Skill in supervising staff, providing training and direction. Skill in handling customer complaints with tact and patience. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, and work collaboratively with those contacted in the course of work. Ability to analyze and define problems, identify alternate solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals. Ability to learn and adapt to advances in computer and electronics device technology and software. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, and with members of the general public. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Ability to adhere to safety policies, procedures and guidelines. Ability to sit from 76 to 100% of the time, to stand and walk from 26 to 50% of the time, and reach, bend, stoop, push and pull up to 25% of the time. Ability to use up to 25 pounds of force up to 25% of the time to move objects.
