The will serves as analyst for the Agency Compliance unit by participating in, answering questions and assisting in the instruction of others regarding surplus lines filings for Company Owned Agencies, National Indemnity Company and Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies appointed agency setup and maintenance, and on producer licensing activities.

This position will be in Omaha Nebraska, and hybrid up to 50% based on management discretion. This position is not eligible for employer visa sponsorship.

What will you do?

  • Participate in and assist in the instruction of others on the setup and maintenance of National Indemnity Company and Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies appointed agencies.
  • Answer questions and assists in obtaining monthly, quarterly and year-end surplus lines written premium detail from Company Owned Agencies.
  • Researches insurance laws/regulations on a variety of surplus lines, company licensing, producer appointment and licensing, and related topics.
  • Prepares new and revised Agency Agreements, Limited Agency Agreements and attachments, and drafts letters to include all enclosures and initial instructions and procedures for transmittal to agencies.
  • Participates in the preparation of new and renewal producer license applications and other documents for completeness and accuracy in accordance with state insurance department requirements for Company Owned Agencies and Company, Divisional and Company Owned Agency individually licensed producers.
  • Reviews new and renewal policies for proper licensed producer information and resulting producer appointment.
  • Analyzes agencies' surplus lines premium reports at year end for accuracy and requests corrections.
  • Corresponds with agencies to request updated financial information, E&O renewal policies, and other reports as needed by management.
