This is a full-time position located on our main campus (30th & L). The schedule will be 40 hours per week; generally, Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm.

The Dental Billing and Credentialing Specialist is a member of the healthcare billing team whose primary responsibilities are the processing of patient charges and payments. The Dental Billing and Credentialing Specialist works collaboratively with the Dental Operations Manager to ensure timely and accurate posting of charges and related payments and facilitates all aspects of dental provider credentialing and privileging. The Dental Billing and Credentialing Specialist processes insurance and other third party payer claims. Timely and accurate submission of patient remittance claims are a critical function of this position. The Dental Billing and Credentialing Specialist duties also include initial appointments and reappointments, monitoring and maintenance of all expiring components, and clinical privileging for all licensed independent providers. All duties will be performed in full alignment with OneWorld Community Health Center's policies or related contracts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent required. Two or more years of billing and collections experience, in a dental environment, required.
  2. One or more years of credentialing and privileging experience.
  3. Completed training/coursework in billing and coding preferred.
  4. Proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, required; experience with Dentrix Enterprise preferred.
  5. Medicaid dental billing is a plus
  6. English proficiency required.
  7. Strong communication skills, with a focus on customer service, required.
  8. Demonstrated knowledge of working with insurance, posting payments, researching unpaid claims, rebilling, and managing collections required.
  9. Demonstrated knowledge of dental procedures, EOBs, and X-Rays preferred.
  10. Demonstrated ability to post high volume claims with accuracy, efficiency, and in a timely manner.
  11. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks with a high attention to detail.
  12. Demonstrated ability to work well as a member of a team
