Responsibilities
  • Assembles field team members daily to communicate and coordinate data collection workflow to and from the field, review production standards and deadlines provided by management and communicate team data collection goal progress.
  • Acts as a team lead to data collection staff (i.e. residential, agricultural, commercial and/or industrial) providing training and guidance, acting as a point of escalation for questions and handling issue resolution (i.e. tasks/assignments, tax payer complaint resolution, data collection related issues, etc.)
  • Collaborates with office clerical staff to identify and correct data collection issues. Performs quality control checks per company guidelines and the project's data collection manual standards for completed field documents submitted by Data Collectors to ensure accuracy. Provides quality control feedback to individual data collection staff and their manager so management can address any performance issues as appropriate.
  • Collects and validates production reports from Data Collectors daily; ensures the accuracy and the proper submission of paperwork as determined by project procedures (this may involve assisting with submission of field staff pay vouchers).
  • Reports attendance, performance, and other work issues of field staff to management as appropriate. Tracks and documents field work assignments, production levels and the quality control status of each team member and reports this to project supervisor and/or manager. Provides input to project manager or manager on skills assessment to ensure data collectors are aligned with the proper level of complexity for this skill development level.
  • Ensures data collection work packs for the assignment area are prepared timely and effectively distributed.
  • Partners with management to ensure the effective communication and implementation of data collector, team and other goals. Works with the project supervisor or manager to review productions and quality performance of the team and plan for upcoming production goals considering the varying degrees of complexity of the work and project timeline.
  • Trains data collection staff involving mentoring and guiding staff with inspecting a variety of residential/agricultural and/or commercial/industrial properties including the most complex properties and properties for high profile projects to ensure that the property record reflects current and accurate property characteristics. Provides guidance to staff in planning and efficiently collecting detailed and comprehensive property data, troubleshooting collection issues, completing field documents, using tools and resources such as field mobile application devices.
  • Trains field data collection staff on how to be efficient with data collection, i.e. planning an efficient route to the assigned property locations, gathering the required property data, using electronic or paper maps, etc. Trains and ensures routing, lot sizing, splits/combinations, transfer of sketches, and other functions of the field staff occur per project plans.
  • Trains data collection staff on how to measure and inspect the exterior of residential/agricultural and/or commercial/industrial buildings as well as interior inspections if required. This involves taking clear images and recording accurate, up-to-date data efficiently for a respective property (i.e. cost/sales information, property characteristics, building characteristics such as square footage, angles, sketches, and dimensions then recording the data on the appropriate field documents and/or mobile devices). Ensures a high level of productivity and process efficiency for properties of a varying degree of complexity.
  • Follows up on and resolves or guides data collector in the professional and successful resolution of any property owner complaints that may be generated in the field.
  • Informs Project Supervisors of all field incidences concerning safety, public relations, etc. Trains and ensures data collectors are professionally representing the company and communicating effectively with the public to share the purpose of our visit to their property, to request data as necessary for the project and to answer their questions. Ensure field staff are trained on when to escalate issues to the group leader
  • Plans the route for the day and week for data collectors and distributes work assigned by the project supervisor or manager to the team based on multiple factors (i.e. level of difficulty of dwellings in the subdivision, etc.) May involve assisting project supervisors and/or management with determining where the data collectors are assigned for smaller projects.
  • Identifies, recommends, and assists management with the data collection staff training creation and enhancements and the implementation of process improvements.
  • Involves working primarily outdoors in all weather conditions, requires significant walking and driving to properties in a respective jurisdiction using a personal vehicle.
  • Takes appraisal coursework such as IAAO and applies learning of to assist with the review team with the valuation of properties as needed.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Demonstrates awareness of and adherence to Company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Safety Handbook. These include, but are not limited to, Safety, Equal Employment Opportunity, Business Ethics, and Anti-Harassment Policies.
  • Performs other duties, as required.
