Temporary General Clerk I


About the Role:


As a General Clerk I, you will be an integral part of our administrative team, providing essential support to various departments within the organization. You will perform a range of clerical duties to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of our business processes.


Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine clerical tasks such as data entry, filing, photocopying, scanning, and faxing documents.
  • Sort, organize, and distribute incoming mail and packages, and prepare outgoing mail for dispatch.
  • Assist with basic accounting and bookkeeping tasks, such as processing invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, both electronic and paper-based, ensuring confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
  • Answer phones, take messages, and route calls to appropriate personnel in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Greet visitors and direct them to the appropriate individuals or departments, providing assistance as needed.
  • Coordinate scheduling and calendar management for meetings, appointments, and events.
  • Collaborate with team members to support special projects or initiatives as assigned.
  • Monitor office supplies inventory and place orders as needed to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
  • Prior experience in a clerical or administrative support role is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other basic computer skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional and friendly demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new tasks and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
  • Reliability and punctuality in attendance, with a commitment to fulfilling job duties consistently and efficiently.
  • Basic understanding of office equipment such as printers, scanners, and photocopiers.
